Crew of HMCS Ontario, November, 1945.
Negative #ON-0215: Ship's company of HMCS Ontario. The photo is dated "Nov. 1945" (cropped out at the bottom) so it
must have been taken in Manilla (unlikely as the ship left there Nov. 1) Guam, or Pearl Harbour. The crew include two
Air Force officers and one Army officer.
Kenneth Johnson has been identified in this photo (please view the enlargement to
see details). Looking directly above the army officer in the front row, there is a large, white triangular object attached
to the deck. On the deck above that, there is a man standing and holding on with both hands to a pole or small davit.
On the deck above him are four men sitting together in a row, and immediately to the right of them, with his feet on
the deck where the four men are sitting and with his elbows on his knees, is Kenneth Johnson.
